The University of Ilorin (Unilorin) has been awarded the prestigious N500 million Best Institution Award by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). This recognition comes as a testament to Unilorin’s exceptional academic standards, administrative efficiency, and significant contributions to the Nigerian education sector.

The award was presented during a grand ceremony held at JAMB’s headquarters, where distinguished guests, education stakeholders, and representatives from various universities gathered to celebrate the institution’s remarkable achievements. The Vice-Chancellor of UniIlorin, Professor Sulyman Abdulkareem, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the university, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the staff and students.

“This award is a reflection of the relentless pursuit of excellence by everyone associated with UniIlorin,” Professor Abdulkareem stated. “We are committed to sustaining and surpassing the standards that have brought us this honor.”

JAMB’s decision to honor UniIlorin was based on a comprehensive evaluation of the institution’s academic performance, infrastructural development, research output, and adherence to admission guidelines. The university stood out for its impressive track record in producing well-rounded graduates, its robust academic programs, and its proactive measures in promoting innovation and research.

Dr. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, praised UniIlorin for setting a high benchmark in the Nigerian education system. “The University of Ilorin has consistently demonstrated excellence in various aspects of academia. This award is well-deserved, and we hope it inspires other institutions to strive for similar standards.”

The N500 million prize is expected to be utilized by UniIlorin to further enhance its academic facilities, support research initiatives, and improve the overall educational experience for its students.
