With so many Nigerians getting into the tech space and getting remote jobs, I have made a list of five countries Nigerians can get digital nomad visas easily.

There are some countries in the Caribbean islands and South America that are giving digital nomad visa programs with easy procedures, and it’s affordable.

With a remote job, a a digital nomad visa allows a person to leave the country for a short time. The people obtaining the visa have to work outside the country they are going to and also present a certain amount of funds before they are eligible, and their application fees are necessary.

This article will focus on the few countries that do not have difficult rules, according to information on their official immigration sites and from different experiences. However, several other countries offer this kind of service to Nigerians.

The countries where Nigerians can easily get digital nomad visas include Antigua and Barbuda, Mexico, Costa Rica and Portugal. These countries also give Nigerians the opportunity to get three digital nomad visas.

One of the countries Nigerians can get digital nomad visas is Antigua and Barbuda. This country is described as affordable and family-friendly, allowing applicants to bring their families. 

The internet speed in the country is very high. The cost is $1,500 per individual for a two-year visa. Applicants must prove a minimum income of $50,000 and meet other requirements like health insurance and sufficient income proof through bank statements. There is also the need for proof of financial stability and health coverage.

The country is an affordable, family-friendly option. It allows applicants to bring their families. Travelling here costs $1,500 per individual for a two-year visa. The interest rate in this country is very high, and the minimum income of the applicant must be $50,000. The applicants are meant to meet the requirements, which include proof of financial stability and health coverage, otherwise known as sufficient income proof from bank statements and health insurance.

Another one of the countries Nigerians can get digital nomad visas is Uruguay. The residential suite in this country is only designed for people who are self-employed or are working remotely for company aboard. The application process involves two stages.

For Uruguay, the cost of the program is actually $2,000 and the visa is valid for one year.

You must also prove that you earn at least $3,000 every month. Plus, the application process is also online and quite easy.

Costs Rica offers an inexpensive visa at the rate of $250 which is valid for two years with proof of monthly income of $2,500  for the two years. 

The digital nomad enjoys the benefits of being exempted from income tax and can enjoy other benefits, which include validating their home country’s driver’s license as well as opening a national bank account in Costa Rica.

This income must have been consistent over the last two years, or you should have at least $60,000 in your Nigerian bank account or the equivalent in Naira.

A very beautiful country Nigerians can take advantage of and get a digital nomad visa. With various costs beginning from $150 to $390, Mexico offers a one-year visa that is renewable for four years.

Unfortunately, the applicants are not allowed to bring their families and must show a minimum monthly income of $1,700 and a substantial bank balance. The country is known for its low cost of living, good network, and warm climate.

  1. Portugal

Portugal has reduced its offer of two types of digital nomad Visas to one, the D8 Visa. The D8 Visa requires a high-income threshold. The requirements now include robust financial statements, health insurance, and a statement of purpose.

However, before these, Portugal used to offer two types of digital nomad visas, but they’ve discontinued one now; one was the D7 Visa and the other was the D8 Visa. The D7 Visa has been scrapped.
