Popular Nigerian dancer and content creator based in the UK. Korra Obidi, whose real name is Anita Obidi, caused uproar from fans when she decided to go on a Hawaii vacation with the $50,000 legal fee donated to her by fans.
Korra Obidi, a mother of two, had previously appealed to her fans for financial assistance in response to her ex-husband’s legal action, in which he accused her of using their children for social media content.
In Korra’s words, she said;
“As a mother, it’s time to fight for myself and my kids,”
After this statement, she declared her GoFundMe account information and pleaded with her fans to support her financially.
After about $50,000 was donated to her account, Korra declared in a live session on Facebook that on Sunday, she would be going on vacation to Hawaii.
Fans are currently enraged at her decision, protesting that the GoFundMe campaign that she declared was strictly for legal redress against her ex-husband not a means to fund her luxurious lifestyle. Some other persons also backlash against fans for donating to her in the first place.
A fan from Facebook, Karen Lenea, wrote: “Your father should be ashamed of you for BEGGING for money to fly around the world. I bet you didn’t even get a lawyer. I feel sorry for the people that give you money. WAKE UP PEOPLE…”
Another user, Jennifer Lynn Russell, said, “I’m mad that she can’t post pictures because without posting pictures, she can’t make money. She needs to post pictures of her kids to make money. But she would rather go to Hawaii than see her children. This is sickening, and people gave her money. People need to report the GoFundMe; everybody needs to report to get their money back.”
“There’s no way in hell that I would be off flying to Hawaii on Mother’s Day when I could be with my kids. You talk a good game, but your morals are so wrong. This is a very special day for mothers, and you don’t even have your children when you can have your children, yet you too run around all the time spending the day with them,” said a user, Robyn White Best.
Brandy Marie Caudillo, “Actions speak louder than words. Period. You are going on a trip, But it’s your day to spend time with the kids. Spend that GoFundMe money well, your kids deserve better. Shame on you.”
Mamaluv Love said, “Lol, emotional blackmail and people fell for it. Enjoy free money travelling the world and blocking people that contributed as well..smh”
