Three Soldiers were killed in Aba after the Sit-at-home operation.

Sit-at-home turns bloody as three soldiers were killed in Aba while the Indigenous people of Biafra were celebrating the heroes of Biafra. The three soldiers were killed by gunmen who attacked the military unit in Obikabia Junction, Ogbor Hill area.

This incident is recurrent as it was reported that two soldiers were already killed in the military unit, but some gunmen.

The gunmen entered the military unit by 6:45 am and even burned down the patrol van, but the soldier escaped the attack from the gunmen.

A young man who was hit by a stray bullet battled for life as sympathisers were seen making attempts to get a tricycle to take him to the hospital.

A victim who was also affected by the attack kept battling for his life, and others were barely watching as they could not take him to the hospital.

However, the sit-at-home got a massive response from motorists who deserted the roads in all city areas. Schools, markets and other business centres were shut down. Most students who were supposed to take the WAEC Mathematics examination could not take it as there were no motorists to take them to their schools.

The situation has caused tension on Ogbor Hill. The roads were empty, and soldiers gave hot chase to motorists and other passersby along Ukaegbu, Umuola, New Umuahia, Omoba, Ehere, Ururuka roads, and Opobo junction, which are adjoining roads to military units.

Currently, there’s tension in the state, and military helicopters are everywhere, especially in the Ogbor Hill area. This has made people stay indoors.

“As early as 6:45 am, there was heavy gunfire around the military unit at Obikabia junction. When I peeped through the windows of my apartment, I discovered it was an attack on the soldiers. The unit and patrol van were set on fire. The roads are still deserted; people are making efforts to relocate from the Obikabia junction area because of fear of the unknown from the angry soldiers.”
