Governor Umo Eno terminate the appointment of the special duties commissioner

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has officially terminated the appointment of the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bassey Okon.

This report was included in a statement made in uyo , which is the state’s capital by the secretary of the Akwa ibom state government , Mrs Enobong Uwah on Monday.

In the statement, the governor did not give reasons for relieving the commissioner of his duty but he concluded that the termination was to be carried out with immediate effect by the commissioner.

The governor also appreciated the commissioner for his service to the state and its people also wishing him well in his future plans and goals.

The commissioner was also ordered by the governor to hand over all the government properties in his custody to the permanent secretary who will direct them to the secretary of the state government to take charge of the properties while we await a new commissioner to be appointed.

“In an ongoing effort to reposition this administration in line with the ARISE Agenda, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Umo Eno, has relieved Dr Bassey Okon, Commissioner for Special Duties as Commissioner in the Akwa Ibom Executive Council with immediate effect,” the statement said.
