AY confirms separation from wife, Mabel, ending their 20-year “marriage”. Popular Nigerian Stand-up comedian Ayo Makun, also known as AY, and his wife, Mabel, have finally ended their 20 years of “marriage”. The couples have been having a series of marital crisis, flying all over social media. The root cause of their separation is the fact that AY Makun is a womanizer, and his wife, Mabel, could no longer put up with his flirting attitude, which has finally led to their separation.
This confirmation was on Sunday, 7th of April, 2024, when AY came on his Instagram handle to announce the new development in a post he made.
In the post, he said he has gotten to a stage in his life where he no longer wants to entertain his audience with “deep personal family issues”.
He spoke about not wanting to hurt the mental state of his grown-up daughter, who he believes is his priority. AY claims he likes the lies that are being spread about him, and he believes the truth will one day surface. He also claimed he was not guilty when he said everyone is not perfect. AY was accused of infidelity in his marital home by his wife, who is currently making out with other men.
In his words he said,
“Many people believe that staying silent simply means that one is incapable of dealing with issues. Projecting a negative narrative against someone who is not struggling to defend himself doesn’t mean he is weak. Some of us are just logical enough to understand the difference between opinions, values, beliefs, and facts.
“The personality and ability that I possess simply confirm that I have reached that stage in my life where I can not be entertaining the public with deep personal family issues. They just might be too much to handle concerning the individuals involved. Not even when I have a grown-up daughter who can access social media. Her mental health needs to be protected from seeing things she can not be proud of online.
“Yes! Without compromising my family, I have found myself doing some things that I am not proud of today. It is one thing to watch my friendship/marriage of 20 years slip off my hands, but it’s another for the parties involved to understand how to appropriate the blame in a space designed for most women to always play the victims and win. I can tell you for free that no one is completely innocent enough to cast stones.
“Presently, I am loving the way that the lies about me in all these blogs are travelling faster than the truth. But my painful truth will eventually beat away all the lies.”
Also, in a post on her Instagram page on Sunday, Mabel said she had stopped reacting to disrespect.
His wife, Mabel, also said on her Instagram handle post on Sunday 7th, April 2024, that she has stopped reacting to disrespect.
She said, “Distance is my new response to disrespect. I don’t react, and I don’t argue. I don’t dive into the drama. I just removed myself.”
Let’s not forget that this union between Ayo and Mabel is blessed with two children since they got married in November 2008.
