Filmtech startup CEOs in Nigeria worth over $6.4 billion.

The Nigerian movie industry has shown remarkable growth in the past few years with intelligent CEOs managing their startup Filmtech industries. Nigerian movies have become the epicenter of Africa stories. With current investment and sponsorship from Netflix,Amazon Prime and others.

Nigeria’s box office has generated an impressive amount of N19 billion over the past three years. The industry has also recorded some challenges in an industry that is worth over $6.4 billion and still growing in all aspects including scripting , getting the right talent to act, production and finance.

The success of the Nigerian movie industry can be attributed to the significant contribution of several CEOs who are leveraging technology to bridge the gaps in the industry. One of this CEOs include Soji Ogunnaike , 

Chidinma Igbokweuche-Founder NollyData,

Julie Ako – CEO Albantsho,

Victoria Popoola- Co founder Talent X Africa, 

Akinsola Muse – Cofounder Film Locations Nigeria,

Eric Kafui Okyerefo  – CEO of Filmmakers Mart

Soji Ogunnaike has been in the industry for over two decades with a special niche which he crafted for himself.

He is the co-founder of Rushing Tap but before this time, he served diligently as CEO of 601 Realtimes limited from January 2006 to July 2015, he guided the company for nine years seven  months with effective managerial skills and media production.

Chidinma Igbokweuche-Founder Nollydata

Chidinma Igbokweuche , a screenwriter, producer and filmmaker. She founded Nollydata with her co-founder Ibrahim Suleiman, who is a notable actor in 2022.

The reason for the creation of NollyData was to satisfy the need for an organised database within Nollywood. The platform was launched to serve as an information platform on matters concerning movie updates.

 Julie Ako – CEO Albantsho

Julie Ako is a filmmaker, a project manager and information system specialist whose mission is to reshape the storyline of Africa through the power of storytelling. She has an academic background in computer science and a higher diploma in filmmaking and television studies. She’s currently bringing together the worlds of technology and cinematography. She is the CEO of Albantsho.

Victoria Popoola- Co founder Talent X Africa

Victoria Popoola is a finance professional who has a background in Venture and data analytics.

She co-founded TalentX Africa in October 2021, a full time venture that is focused on talent exchange and infrastructure. TalentX has an investment of over $1 million in Nollywood movies.

 Akinsola Muse – Cofounder Filmlocations Nigeria

Akinsola Muse , he is  film director, producer, and a  creative force in the media industry with a decade full of experience. He began since  April 2011, where he was a key figure at 1705 Productions LTD in Royal Oak, Michigan, directing and producing over 13 commercials for different brands like MTN, Airtel, Unilever, Samsung, Knorr, and Audi. 

Eric Kafui Okyerefo  – CEO of Filmmakers Mart

Eric is the Co-Founder and also the CEO of Filmmakers Mart, which is Africa’s first marketplace for all  films, entertainment industry that is aimed at  transforming  how creatives in the Africa create and  democratise entries into the entertainment industry.
