SSANU, NASU are set for protest in Abuja as they have  concluded mobilisation.

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Associated Institutions, NASU, are set to commence a protest in the country’s state capital in Abuja on Thursday. Even after the last minute intervention by the federal government.

The protest is slated to begin from the unity foundation Anuja by 8am as the affected staffs will be matching to the office of the ministry of education, Mamma Tahir to able them lay their complains properly over the federal government’s delay of their four month’s salary after the joined ASUU in 2022 for industrial action.

Although President Bola Tinubu gave a directive that the affected staff be paid their salaries, SSANU and NASU members have yet to receive their payment several months after the directive was issued.

Subsequently, the President Bola Tinubu gave orders for the affected staff to be paid their salaries and everything they are owed. But  SSANU and NASU staff are yet to get their payment after the president had given those orders months back. Hence , the reason for the protest.
