Suspected Sponsors of Rioters during the Protest have fled Nigeria

The Suspected sponsors of Rioters who hijacked the peaceful protest against Bad governance and hunger have left the country before  they could be arrested as reported by the police, through to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egebetokun.

“Before the protest, we had intelligence that some agents of destalinization were bent on using the protest to destabilise the country. Some of them were already out of the country. Some of them moved out that very day the protest kicked off”, he said.

Mr. Kayode even told the Labour party members to stop making noise about Police investigation, that they are only doing their Jobs.

“We recovered sensitive documents that revealed the involvement of our suspect. He was using the shop or place of business as a front”.

Egbetokun who was speaking at the Nigerian Police Youth Summit held at the Police Resource Centre, Abuja insisted that Police was against protest from onset because a supposed peaceful protest tagged 10 days of rage is not meant to be peaceful.

Mr. Egebetokun made these submissions at the Nigerian Police Youth Summit held in Abuja.  He also stated that the police were not in support of the protest from the beginning of it because a peaceful protest tagged 10 days of rage can never be peaceful.

“When you tagged the protest as 10 days of rage, you knew it was not going to be peaceful and you all saw it for yourself”.

He added,” If the organisers of the protest were sincere, following our warnings of hijacking it, they would have followed the guidelines or gone ahead to meet with the Commissioner of Police of their state. It was for your personal safety

He also kicked against people  that were fond of calling on the Igbos for attacking  them any time there was a protest saying, “It may be true in a few places but the generality of Nigerians, like in place, have never done such a thing. We have lived together for years and bonded together. What I will advise is that where you have that type of issues, go and report to the nearest police or security authorities concerned”
